Louth County Council has given the go ahead for the extension of duration of planning permission for social housing in Dundalk

An extension of duration of planning permissionhas been granted by Louth County Council for a social housing development in Dundalk, that was initially granted planning permission in 2021 and expired this month.

Telos Nodas Ltd was granted planning permission in 2021 for a development on a site beside Glenwood on the Dublin Road in Dundalk.

The development consisted of 20 apartments, comprising 12, two-bedroom units and eight, one-bedroom units of social housing accommodation, with each unit having individual access from a shared deck.

The proposed housing would be contained in a single block rising two storeys in the north east of the site adjacent to Glenwood, to four storeys at the south west of the site on to the Dublin Road.

The planning application also provided for landscaped gardens, a waste management building, secure bicycle storage for 34 bicycles, and eight car parking spaces which would be accessed from the shared entrance with the adjacent services station from the Dublin Road.

Louth County Council granted conditional planning permission for the development on 1 September 2021, with an expiry date of 3 October 2026.

Vincent Connolly applied for an extension of duration of the planning permission in August of this year.

Louth County Council gave the go ahead for the extension of duration on 19 October, subject to two planning conditions.

In its conditions, Louth County Council said that the extension of duration would expire on 17 November 2028, and that the planning conditions of the original planning application shall be fully complied with.
