A night of musical comedy

For their eighteenth annual production, the Cúchulainn Players are delighted to again perform in the Spirit Store following last year’s acclaimed comedy ‘Away in a Home’.

This year the theatre group have set their jaundiced sights on comedy ‘The Wedding’ and the things which might go wrong when grannies, aunts, uncles and assorted ‘others’ meet for the first time.

Mismatching clothes, an unfortunate choice of menu and the two ‘families’ stumbling upon secrets they perhaps should not learn about one another, all feature in the production.

Add to the mix the relaxing effects of alcohol (for some of the characters anyway), the meeting of boring and boisterous relatives, the uninhibited efforts at dancing and you can begin to imagine the scene.

Inhibitions will be cast aside as the reception progresses, and everybody will retire to bed happy, content and giggling. All other feelings are arbitrary.

Be prepared to laugh a lot and enjoy the terrific selection of music for the show which will have you humming along with the cast.

The show is full of humour and music from a talented cast of nineteen, which includes many of Dundalk’s well-known actors and singers, happily talk, sing and dance their way through the show.

The Spirit Store is a superb venue for the intimate show and the Players are delighted to be performing in the venue again.

The opening night will take place tonight and the show will run until Saturday at 8.15pm nightly.

All tickets for the show are €10 and are available online at www.spiritstore.ie, from the Spirit Store on 042 9352697 or McAteers Food House.

There will be limited seating so early booking is advisable.
