The Stabannon and District Community Text Alert Programme is now in operation. On last Wednesday all the members of the group received a text message informing them that the scheme is up and running. The aim of the programme is to bring the community closer together and watch out for each other’s property and well being especially children and the elderly. Their objective is to have a text alert system which can be used as a means of alerting all households to dangers and suspicious activities in the area.
Any subscriber who, for some reason, hasn’t received a text message should contact their local representative.
If any member notices anyone or any vehicle acting in a suspicious manner they should contact the Gardai and one of the following, Ann Lynch, Philip Price, or Joe McGee.
The programme is being run in close co-operation with the Gardai.
