The Walk Peer Programme is a new programme recently set up in Louth to support young people aged 16-24 years in receipt of a disability payment to access mainstream employment, education and training.

Kilkerley Emmets 25 week lotto draw, week 6 had a Jackpot of €3,900 of which there was no winner. Numbers drawn were: 7,14, 17, 19. Emmets Prediction Competition

Kilkerley Naomh Malachi minor team beat Roche 2-10 to 3-5. The U-14 team lost to Joes 4-5 to 4-3 with Ultan McEnaney 4-1, Darren Geoghegan 0-1, Oisin Conroy 0-1, with Tristan McKeown, Ciaran Lennon, Jamie Doherty, Sean McCaughey and Tadgh Litchfield aslo doing well.


Kilkerley Bowls Club host the 11th Annual Open Pairs Tournament for the John Mulligan Perpetual Cup began in the Community Centre on Easter Monday night with Heats continuing also on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The qualifiers from each night will contested the final on last Friday night April 5. Bowls will continue weekly at the local Bowls Club where you will be very welcome each Wednesday night at 7.45pm in the Community Centre.

Dancing in Centre

Dancing in the Community Centre this Sunday night April 14 with music by Country Storm. Curtis Magee plays on April 21 and Footsteps on April 28, Michael Cleary and Briege Kelly on May 5, Blue Magic on May 12, Housty on May 19 and Showbud on May 26. Dancing from 9.30pm to 12.30am.

As part of the Year of the Faith and in discussion with the Pastoral Council Fr. Gerry has offered to celebrate Area Masses in homes once a month. If you wish to host an Area Mass please contact Fr. Gerry.


On Friday night last members enjoyed Thrill Night and on this Friday April 12 it is Pizza and Zumba night. The Club need adult female volunteer Leaders so if you are interested please contact the Club and full training will be provided. Activity for members each Friday night from 8.30pm in the Community Centre.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes;

Pilgrimage takes place this year from May 12 to May 17. Fare is €680 which includes Flights, Insurance, transfers, accommodation and all your food. Emmets GFC

Members are reminded that membership fees are due and can be paid to the Treasurers or any officer. New members or former members are most welcome to join and can do so by contacting any Officer. The Sheelan Cup last round away to Hunterstown Rovers on Good Friday resulted in defeat 3-5 to 1-5 with S McElroy 1-2, R Mulholland 0-1, N Lennon 0-2, and the outstanding previous round home game against Naomh Malachi was played on Sunday morning last. Shane Lennon has arranged a Regional Coaching session in Kilkerley on this Saturday morning April 12 with himself and one other Louth player taking one group of children for a training session. Mentors from surrounding clubs will be invited to attend. The senior league games schedule is as follows – Newtown Blues (A), O’Connells (H), Gaels (H), O’Raghaillighs(A), Plunkets (H), St Pats (A), Martins (H), Cooley (A), Dreadnots (H), Sean O’Mahoneys (A), Mattock Rangers (H) . The U-14 play away to St Josephs in Division 2 League this Wednesday April 3 at 6.30pm and on Monday next the U-16 team play at home against St Fechins in Division 2 league at 6.30pm. . The U- 12 league started on Friday last April 5 at home to Cuchullain Gaels, on Friday April 19 its away to Pats and on Friday May 10 away to Gaels, U- 11 starts this Friday April 12, U- 10 started on Monday last of last week as did the U-18 League, U- 9 started on Monday of this week April 8, U- 8 started on Sunday last Sunday April 7. Any players aged between 14 and 17 years interested in refereeing GO Games from U-11down should give their names to Kevin McEnteggart or Cillian Quigley.


Sympathy is extended to the Mulholland family Rathmore on the death of their mother Bernadette who was laid to rest in Kilkerley Cemetery on Wednesday March 27, and to her son Tony on the death of his wife Veronica who was laid to rest in Annaclone the previous week.
