House and Garden Competition
A great opportunity for you to win €200 doing something you enjoy. Knockbridge Tidy Towns Annual House and Garden Competition has got underway with a new incentive. Yes, the overall winner will receive a cheque for €200 plus the Kathleen Farrell Perpetual Trophy. 2nd Prize winner will receive a cheque for €100 and 3rd Prize is €50. A nice little sum of money all round. So as the story goes, “...if you’re not in you can’t win...” All you have to do to enter the competition is complete the application form that you can pick up in Brodigan’s Foodstore in the village and return the completed form to the box provided in Brodigan’s. All of the above is private and will only be opened by the appropriate tidy towns volunteers. Closing date is 13th April. Photographs of the gardens and houses entered will then be taken at various intervals by tidy towns representatives. So, please note when completing your application form that you are giving your permission for tidy towns to photograph the subject of your entry during the coming months. Adjudication of the 2013 House and Gardens competition will take place in June and winners will be notified. Good Luck everybody, don’t forget to get your entry in over the next week. The catchment area that applies to all entries extends out to Martin’s Cross, The Stone Trough and from Grange Cross to the top of the Rathiddy Road.
Knockbridge Tidy Towns are asking all members of the local community to be vigilant and to please help over the coming months to keep the village and roads litter free. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Anybody who would like to join the Tidy Towns committee or indeed to get involved in any way of their choice would be most welcome to come along to the next tidy towns meeting which will be held on Thursday 11th April. For further details please ring the secretary at 087-2710716. The committee are looking for ways to improve the place, thank you very much. Knockbridge currently holds 2nd place in County Louth in the National Tidy Towns Competition in the 2012 competition. Please help to increase this result or at least to retain it and to get our GOLD status medal back. Without the help of the local community we cannot achieve this well deserved status. HELP!!!!
Thank you to the people who do and have helped, to those who contributed flowers and shrubs, to the people and young people who go out and pick up litter and to all our FAS Mid Louth C.E. workers. Thank you all. The committee look forward to working with you during the coming season.
