Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire’s two quiz teams were in top form when they won the Senior and Junior titles at the Ardee Credit Union Schools’ Quiz at the Bohemian Centre Ardee.

In a keenly contested competition the girls stayed full-focused until the final round.

There was great excitement when the girls realised they had won both the junior and the senior quiz.

Congratulations to the junior team members: Jasmine Carroll, Niamh Whyte, Ella MacCormack, Kayla Halpenny and Amy Dowdall and the senior team members were: Tara McGuinness, Roisé Quinn, Áine Byrne, Jasmine Bishun and Niamh McGuinness.

The girls now go forward to represent Ardee in the next round of the competition.

The school has a long history of success and participation in quiz competitions with pupils enjoying the opportunity to participate in weekly lunch-time quizzes organised by teacher Mrs Kim Rust.

Just before Christmas the school scooped the top nine prizes in the Ardee Credit Union Art Competition.

Further success came when Emma Courtney, 1st class, was declared winner of the chapter 5 level of the competition and her poster went on to represent the region at national level.

The Credit Union League of Ireland has been running these quizes for young people for quite some time now and they are a major success.

Well done to all in Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire, Ardee.
