One can only view this as a bit of a kick in the special area for the League of Ireland.

‘MNS’ was a popular programme with the Irish soccer supporters and a decent vehicle for the league itself. Last season’s domestic scene really seemed to kick on, with some excellent football played throughout, some hugely enjoyable televised games and stars returning from the UK. You’d have thought this coming season would have been a perfect opportunity to kick on in terms of pushing the league’s exposure.

The dilution of the show into a more generic football magazine, in a much later spot, only serves to pull the league two steps back after that significant leap forward and I can imagine few scenarios in which League of Ireland fans would be happy with such a move.
