A number of weeks ago, yours truly had written a piece on how the powers of Barca were on the wane and a potential crisis was brewing.
Fast forward a month and a half and it seems I’ve jumped the gun a tad as the Blaugrana march into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and land back in the thick of the race for La Liga having overcome bitter rivals, Real Madrid 4-3 in a wondrous game Sunday evening.
Make no mistake about it, El Clasico is still the flagship game of club football. Whilst Bayern currently rule the roost, nothing comes close to a Barca-Real face-off.
