DUNDALK Football Club is delighted to announce that they have completed a deal with Hyho Travel that provides real benefits to the club and its supporters.

DUNDALK Football Club is delighted to announce that they have completed a deal with Hyho Travel that provides real benefits to the club and its supporters.

Hyho, which stands for "Helping you help others", can offer Dundalk FC supporters an array of holidays and travel packages to multiple destinations. And, by booking a break through a link on the club's official website, dundalkfc.com, Hyho will pay a percentage of their industry commission to Dundalk FC. Financially beneficial

"The financial deal that Hyho Travel put on the table was considerably higher than any other travel companies we talked to who could just not get near the Hyho offer," Dundalk FC Promotions Officer Paul Johnson said.

"In addition to up-front financial payments from Hyho Travel the club see this as a fantastic opportunity for our supporters to directly help the club in a financial way. Hyho Travel will provide our supporters with fantastically competitive travel packages and holidays.

"In return for Dundalk FC supporters booking with Hyho, Hyho Travel will provide contributions back to the club. It's a great deal for everybody involved. We're delighted to reach this agreement in what are very tough economic times for League of Ireland Football Clubs and supporters alike." Helping others

As part of this agreement, Hyho Travel will also honour the prize of a holiday which was won by Delores Hewitt in the club's 'Holiday Draw'. About a month after that draw, unfortunately the Dundalk branch of the company that had sponsored the prize closed down. In addition to this, Delores took ill and unfortunately passed away.

"We had been in constant discussions with the family during this difficult time to ensure them that their holiday would be made available to them whenever it suited the family," Johnson said.

"On hearing this story Hyho Travel came in and took over the full cost of the holiday and provided it to Dundalk FC so the Hewitt family could claim their prize. We are also delighted that one of our ex-Youth players Anto, who is Dolores's son, is claiming the holiday today. Dundalk FC and Hyho Travel hope the holiday will provide some consolation to the family in what have been very difficult circumstances." Refer a Friend

Hyho Travel also offers a "Refer a Friend" option which provides supporters with another avenue to give financial support to Dundalk FC. When you make a booking with Hyho Travel, you are given a unique account number and a membership card. All you have to do is tell your friends, family and colleagues about your experience with Hyho and have them make a booking based on your recommendation. When they mention your name and client file number upon booking, Hyho will donate a contribution to Dundalk FC at their own expense.

Simple idea One of the company's directors, Dave Hewitt, whose business partner is Diarmuid Coughlan, was present at Oriel Park on Tuesday morning, and firstly gave a background to Hyho Travel.

"We have been working on this project for about three years," Dave said. "About 18 months ago, we got it up and running. The whole idea of the company is, as the mantra goes, "Helping you help others". We're the only company in the country that has been set up specifically to do this. Rather than pay a lot of money and market our product around the country and be on under pressure for the cost of marketing, we pay for our marketing as we go along. In other words, Dundalk FC will help market to their supporters, and in return we'll pay up to 20 percent in commission we earn from the supporters, at no extra cost to them, straight back to the club.

Repaying supporters

Dave visited the new Youth Development Centre at Oriel Park and was impressed with the facilities on offer.

"The growth in Dundalk here is fantastic," he said. "With facilities like that, first of all players will be attracted to the club. It's a club on the up and we're very much happy and delighted to be a part of that, and hopefully we can grow with Dundalk FC. The only thing that we need is the people of Dundalk phoning our company and checking us out. We're a fully-bonded travel agency, we're fully insured and we're here for the long-term."
