CILL CARTHA

Well done to Colaiste na Carraige who had a great win over St Colm’s, Draperstown to reach the Danske Bank Under-16 Arthurs Cup semi-finals . Well done also to Ryan McHugh, Eoin McHugh and Paddy McBrearty, who started in Donegal’s league win over Down on Saturday evening with Stephen McBrearty coming on as a sub for his senior debut,  

Training starting for all ladies on Mondays from 7-8pm in Aislann Cill Chartha.

There was no winner of  the Lotto Jackpot so next week’s Jackpot is €3,100 this week’s numbers were:  1, 9, 18 and 26 winners were: €50 Charlie McDevitt €30 Cian Boyle €20 Donal McShane and Dearbhla Meehan.

NAOMH COLMCILLE

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €2,600 which will rollover to next weeks jackpot of €2,650. This week’s weekly €75  was shared by Margaret Killea, Mickey Doherty and Charlie and Ann Callaghan who all received €25 euro each. Minor training currently taking place and all other under age teams to start back in the coming weeks.

MALIN                                    

The club held a very successful annual Dinner Dance last Saturday night in the Malin Hotel. Awards were presented by 1992 Donegal All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Gary Walsh, who the club would like to thank for his attendance and kind words about the club on the night. Awards went to: Senior player of the year Paul McLaughlin (F).Young senior player of the year Christopher McLaughlin (F). Reserve player of the year John Colm Doherty. Reserve young player of the year Aidan Bambrick. Minor player of the year Christopher Doherty (PM). Most improved minor player Andrew Mullin. The U-16 player of the year Oisin McGonagle. U-16 most improved player Jason Mullarkey and Padraig McCarron. Conor Bambrick, Sean O’Neill, Ciaran Doherty, Oisin McGonagle and Daniel Houten were also recognised for their participation in the Colaiste Inis Eoghain squad. The reserve team also collected their medals from winning the Philadelphia Cup. Ladies senior player of the year Linda McColgan. Young senior ladies player Mariah Doherty. U-16 ladies playerSarah Monagle. U-16 ladies most improved player Megan Harkin. There was an appreciation award given to Colleen Feeney and Rosemary McColgan for their help in the club. Our County player representatives, Declan Walsh, Aoife McColgan and Tara Kelly were recognised, as a club we are very proud of their continued efforts to the club and county. Our referees Shaun McLaughlin (F), John Paul Houten and Thomas Browne were also recognised as great servants to the club and our games.  The Seamus McCloskey award was won by Michael McLaughlin (F), who the club congratulate on his recent engagement to Eilish McColgan. The overseas award was won by Declan Houten. The Hall of fame award was won by Vincey McColgan. The club person of the year award was won by Michael McCarron.

Well done to Malin senior player Gary Farren who played for the Garda College team who advanced into the first round proper of the Sigerson Cup.      

The ladies board are organising a fun day for all primary school girls in the Malin GAA grounds on Saturday the 6th of February.

There was no winner of this week’s jackpot of €1000. The numbers drawn were 2-3-7-6-1-5-4 and the €50 winner was Eilish McColgan. Next week’s jackpot is €1050.

TIR CONAILL GAELS

The club would like to extend sympathy to the Geraghty family  on the death of Patricia Geraghty’s mother Eileen Gallagher (nee Molloy) Mayo.

Thanks to all who attended our Annual Presentation Dinner Dance in the Ballyliffin Hotel on Saturday night. The main award winners on the night were: Ladies Player of the year: Kayla Farren; Senior Player of the year: Kieran Kelly; Reserve Player of the Year: Jonathan McDaid; U21 Player of the year: Conor Bradley; Minor Player of the year: Diarmuid Moyne; Ladies Minor Player of the year: Sarah Mc Gonigle; Club Person of the year: Rose Kelly.

Appreciation awards were presented to outgoing secretary David Hession for all the great work and service given to the cub and to Sean P Doherty our club referee at club and county level..

Well Done to all who represented the club in the County Final of Scor Sinsir last Friday night in Glenswilly. Our instrumental group came second on the night and Evelyn gave a very strong performance.

MOVILLE

Our ballad group of Paddy Doherty, Stephanie Clarke, Maura Gillen and James McDaid  won the county Scor Sinsir final on Friday night. They will now represent Donegal in Ulster in Glenullen on Saturday the 13th  of February.

The Donegal  ladies  captained by Niamh Hegarty got the season off to a winning start.

Membership is now overdue and Membership forms are available from the registrar or any club member.

Due to the adverse weather last Saturday the registration day had to be cancelled so we will hold another day on Saturday the 5th February from 10am to 12pm

The lotto numbers drawn on Monday 25th January were 2, 4, 12, 17. The No jackpot was not won. The €50 winner was  Maureen O’Brien. Next week’s Jackpot is €5,100.

BUNCRANA

Congratulations to Caolan McGonagle who made his debut this weekend against Down in his first National League senior match. We also wish him luck in the rest of his Sigerson campaign for DCU and to all our club players representing their colleges.

Friday, 19th February will see Buncrana GAA host their Presentation Night in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel.

The club has a recycle bin at The Scarvey. Anyone who wishes to place old clothes, shoes, curtains, towels etc... can do so. This helps raise funds for the club. Open for anyone to use.

The lotto numbers last week were 1, 2, 4, 22. There were no winners. Next week’s the jackpot will be €1,050.

Club registration will take place this coming week.

ST NAUL'S

A meeting of the minor board will be held in the Clubhouse on Friday 5th February at 8pm in the Clubhouse. Congratulations to Ceili Dancers who were crowned County Champions in Scor Sinsear in Glenswilly last Friday night.  

Club membership is now due for 2016.   Membership must be paid in full by March 31st.   

A Cookery Demonstration with Celebrity Chef Nevin Maguire takes place  in Abbey Hotel on Thursday 25th February.

AODH RUADH

Donegal’s Division One game against Cork  takes place in Father Tierney Park at 2pm. All Aodh Ruadh key stewards and organisers are required at the grounds before 12 noon and all helpers including programme sellers should be present by 12.30pm.

Advertising hoardings at Father Tierney Park are currently being replaced and renewed. Any business interested in taking a hoarding there should make direct contact with David McLoone, Conal Gallagher or Tom Daly.

Well done to our own Peter Boyle who kept a clean sheet in Páirc Esler last weekend and saved a penalty from Donal O'Hare.

Indoor training makes its long awaited return this Friday 5th February. The 2016 Under 6s [Born 2010-2011] are in the Hall at Creevy National School,, also at Creevy. 2016 under 10s [Born 2006-2007] are training in the new hall at Coláiste Cholmcille. That session is followed by the 2016 under 12s [Born 2004-2005].

Underage hurling makes a welcome return on Sunday 6th March at 12 noon.

There is one current vacancy for a tradesman on the Community Employment Scheme at Father Tierney Park and there is also a remaining coaching vacancy. Contact Tom Daly for further information.

Hard luck to our Scór Na nÓg team who participated in the all Ireland Scór finals at the weekend in Killarney, who finished in seventh place. We are so proud of their efforts, Thanks to John James McLaughlin and to all the parents who travelled down or helped in any way.

Congratulations to the Coláiste na Carraige lads on another great win against St Colums from Draperstown, in Derry.

There will be a registration day on Saturday the 13th of February at the clubhouse to renew club membership.

The newly established Inthru Macra na Feirme Group are holding a car wash in the old school car park, Carrick on Sunday the 7th of February from 11:30 am to 3 pm.

All proceeds raised will go to the Macra Club and the Carrick day care centre.

KILLYBEGS

ST MICHAEL’S

There was no Jackpot winner in the lotto on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 1,3,4,5,9,13.  There were no five  winners and  31 people matched four and their names were drawn; the winner of the €100 was Brendan Kelly, Breaghy, Portnablagh.  This weeks Jackpot be €2700.

The club would like to wish Càtriona Solan a massive congratulations for winning the County Final of Scor Sinsir in Glenswilly on Friday past with very fine performance as usual.

The U10 hurlers were in Derry City on Saturday, where they played Na Magha of Derry. They played three games, winning one.

FOUR MASTERS

The club  Set Dancers won the county final on Friday 29th in Glenswilly. The U-19 hurlers and camogs had their first outing of  the year on Saturday. They competed at an indoor hurling blitz at Letterkenny I.T. They enjoyed a number of competitive and fun games against St. Eunan’s and Gaoth Dobhair.

Applicants for senior manager as per adverts in local papers. Closing date Saturday the 6th of February. The awards night will take place on Saturday the 20th of February  2016 in Dom’s Pier 1.

NAOMH CONAILL

Volunteers required the club are looking for two volunteers to help with the preparation of accounts for the club. The volunteers should be familiar with a computer but do not need to be an expert. They will help with the upkeep of the club accounts and the preparation of monthly reports for the executive. If you are interested in helping out, contact either Patrick McGuigan or Seamus O'Malley.

The senior team have entered the Ulster Senior club league this year. They are in group B with Coalisland Fianna (Tyrone), Strabane Sigersons (Tyrone), Glenullin (Derry), Claudy (Derry) and will play their first game this Sunday 7th February at home vs Glenullin at 12midday.

REALT NA MARA (BUNDORAN)

Hard luck to the boys Senior team of Magh Ene College who lost their Ulster Quarter Final against a very strong Bailieborough CS on Friday last.

Club registration/membership is now due for the new season. The annual Bord na nOg Presentation and registration night will take place on Friday 12th February at 7pm in the Holyrood Hotel. Medals will be presented on the night to the victorious Girls U16 and Boys U18 teams as well as the various Player of the Year Awards.

James Keaney has taken up the very important role of club insurance officer within the club for 2016.

NA ROSSA

It was a big week for Arianna Bonner, Nicola McDyre and  Elllie McDonald as all three were part of their respective age groups for their school St Columba's, Glenties in Ulster finals.

Nicola and Ellie played in the U16s final against St, Clare's of Cavan and on the day and ran out easy winners as the girls lifted their first medals of the week.

Nicola and Ellie travelled to Garvaghey centre again to play in the Schools senior final against St Dominic's of Belfast, but lost.

Congratulations also to Mikaela Bonner on her terrific achievement of reaching number one in the Irish iTunes Charts last weekend.

Best wishes Jamesie Melly as he recovers from his recent spell in hospital. Club membership is now due and can be paid to Pat, Felix or any committee member.

A sincere thanks to all patrons who took part in last seasons club 50 fundraiser. The lotto numbers drawn on Monday night were 2,10, 17 and 20 . The jackpot of €2100 was not won. The lucky dips winners of  €50 were Gaby Lohie, Derryhenny and Mary McGettigan, Derrylaconnell. Next weeks jackpot will be €2150.

The Club currently require managers for both the under 12 and under 14 teams. NAOMH PADRAIG (LIFFORD)

The weekly lotto draw took place on Monday 1st February 2016. The numbers drawn were 4, 15, 28 and 31. There was no jackpot winner. Five lucky players matched two numbers, with each receiving €20. They were: Kathleen Gamble (Rossgier), Aidan Walters (c/o Topaz), Eileen Doherty (Tamnawood), Nora McNulty (Carrickmore) and Teresa McCauley (Porthall).

 Well done to Paul Coyle, Oisin Shiels, Aidan Heraghty, Declan Coyle, Hannah Shiels and Maggie Friel who completed the GAA Foundation Course in Downings last weekend.  

Also congratulations to Patrick Heraghty who completed his Level 2 Coaching Course and to Aidan McAteer who completed Level 1 a few weeks ago.  The above people give up a lot of time coaching our boys and girls in the Club and it’s much appreciated.

GLENSWILLY

A super crowd turned out for the club's annual dinner dance at the Station House Hotel in Letterkenny at the weekend. A special picture presentation was made to the Glackin family whose father, and club stalwart, Finbar Glackin, passed away during the year. It was a poignant reminder of the great people who have helped to put the foundations in place as the club goes forward with a purpose of strength.

Congratulations to Blathnait Gallagher and Imogen Hards who lined out for the Donegal Championship U14 ladies team against Mayo in a friendly at the weekend.

The date of the Tea Night, organised by the Glenswilly GAA Ladies Board, has changed. The tea will now take place a week earlier - on Friday, March 4th in the clubhouse.

LETTERKENNY GAELS

Is mór an trua nar iarraidh leis an Ghrúpa Baileád nó le Méabh Ni Chathail san Amhránaíocht Aonair sa Chómortas Scór Sinsir a bhí ar siúil i nGleann tSúilí Dé hAoine seo caite. The Ballad Group consistied  Geraldine Hanley, Deirdre Uí Dhochartaigh, Katrina Patton, Méabh Ní Chathail and Eimear Kelly. Both the Ballad Group and Méabh in the solo ballad came second in their categories.

A well attended underage football presentation evening took place at the weekend at the Club Room. Thanks to Donegal Ladies Footballers Karen Guthrie and Grainne Houston for helping out with the presentations.

The underage football training resumes again this Friday night  (5th February) and will run for  sixweeks until Friday March 11th 2016.  

Camogie training and the winter league for u-8 & u-10 teams continues every Friday evening at the LYIT. U-12 camogie and girls circuits will also resume on 29th.

Sympathy is extended to the Morrison family on their recent bereavement. Hurling training for u-6 to u-13s is back in full swing on Monday evenings f at the Aura. All welcome. Please note change of time and venue. Contact 086 8405785 for more details.

MILFORD

A massive congratulations to our Instrumental Music Group of Caoimhe Ni Raghallaigh, Kyle Macauley, Eoin and Liam Orr and Noel Lineghan who became county champions on Friday night in the Co Scor finals in Glenswilly.

Our Allianz LMS competition has seen huge interest with a whopping €400 to be paid out to the winner! There were a lot of cautious picks in week one  with only a few fallers, but with eight different teams picked in week two fixtures there are bound to be more casualties on the way!

This weeks lotto numbers were 2-5-8-12. There was no jackpot winner. Two peoples match 3 winners and win €35 each. They were Brendan and Christina Ward, and Aisling Dorrian. Next weeks Jackpot is €1,860.
