Last season’s U14 double winners, Rock Celtic, cruised to a comfortable 3-0 home win over Ardee Celtic at Sandy Lane on Saturday in the U15 Premier Division.
The home side took the lead with their first attack on three minutes when Liam O’Callaghan slipped the ball into the path of Kizito Ekwueme who slotted past Ardee ‘keeper Gavin Kirk.
The same two Rock Celtic players combined again on 26 minutes to put the Blackrock team 2-0 ahead.
Ekwueme scored both goals but he could have had six but for the heroics of Ardee net minder Kirk, who was the busiest player on the pitch.
It was more of the same in the second-half. Evan McKenna and Tristan Knowles threatened in the early stages for Ardee but it was soon 3-0 when Aidan Curtin’s pass found the feet of Ekwueme to score his third goal of the game.
