Glenmuir United came out on top of a ten-goal thriller over a battling Bay United in this U13 game played at Bay’s Rock Road pitch on Saturday morning.

Gerard Uamai broke the deadlock for Bay in the 8th minute with a neat finish from just inside the penalty area after good work by Ronnick Achums but Glenmuir equalised straight from the resulting kick-off when Ebuka Kwelele waltzed his way through the Bay defence to slot past Luke O’Hanlon.

Bay United then created two good opportunities to go back in front with the lively Gerard Uamai causing havoc in the Glenmuir defence. He struck the top of the Blues’ crossbar on 14 minutes and shortly after his powerful shot was narrowly wide of the target.

It was quite a crazy but exciting game of football when all of a sudden the game was transformed with Glenmuir scoring three goals in the final four minutes of the first half through Niall O’Callaghan, Hugh Connolly and Ebuka Kwelele to go 1-4 ahead.

Adam Lennon scored goal number five for Glenmuir early in the second half and it looked a long way back for the home side but amazingly Gerard Uamai completed a hat-trick with two stunning strikes making it 3-5 just 12 minutes after the restart.

Andrew Cummins then added a sixth goal for Glenmuir to put the result beyond Bay when he raced on to a terrific pass from the impressive Niall O’Callaghan but it was Gerard Uamai who had the last word for Bay when he scored his fourth goal in the last minute of this thrilling high scoring encounter.
