A ruthless Rangers performance saw them hit Glen Abbey for eight goals in this Division Four clash on Sunday with seven different players chipping in on the scoresheet for Ger Garvey’s side.
Sean Bailey’s brace and solitary strikes from Anto Reilly, Anto McLaughlin, Barry Casey, Shane Taaffe, Dylan Thornton and Gavin Gaffey moved the Moorland meninto the top four in the table.
It was an excellent performance from start to finish with full backs Conor Mulligan and Jude Carroll involved from the start in linking up with Gaffey and Robbie Mackin respectively.
As usual Gaffey’s crossing was superb, setting up a number of goals including those for the experienced duo of Reilly and Barry Casey.
Young Mackin on the left showed maturity beyond his years in displaying an array of passing skills and flicks.
Up top, Reilly and Bailey were a threat throughout with Reilly dropping deeper into midfield when necessary to cause problems.
Dylan Thornton impressed when sprung from the bench in the second-half, managing to get on the score sheet almost immediately.
In an easy win, centre half Shane Taaffe finished the scoring with a neat header.
RANGERS: Tommy Mulvey, Jude Carroll, Barry Casey, Shane Taaffe, Conor Mulligan, Anto McLaughlin, Gavin Gaffey, Stephen McGuinness, Robert Mackin, Anto Reilly, Sean Bailey. Subs: Dylan Thornton, Keith Harmon.
