Ardee Celtic continue to struggle near the bottom end of Division One after a 3-1 defeat to Kentstown at Townparks on Sunday afternoon.

The first-half was evenly balanced with both team having an even share of possession but it was Kentstown who broke the deadlock late in the first-half through Shaun Doyle.

Ardee opening the second-half in determined mood but it was the visitors who added a second goal on the hour through Keith Lawlor and shortly afterwards, against the run of play, Darren Lynch made it 3-0 to kill the game as a contest.

Ardee, to their credit, continued to play at a high tempo and they were rewarded when Gatis Logins scored a beauty after good combination play between Robbie Reynolds and Ryan Carroll had created the chance.

The final 15 minutes saw the home side camped in the Kentstown half but despite their pressure the visitors held on for the win.

Ardee remain in eighth place.

Ardee Celtic: Sean McKeever, Aaron Knowles, Keith Carroll, Robbie Coyle, Robbie Reynolds, Paul Carrie, Shane Taaffe, Gatis Logins, Ryan Carroll, Conor Osbourne, Vinnie Matthews.
