Woodview Reserves recorded their biggest win of the season with a 7-0 hammering of Ardee Celtic in Oriel Park on Saturday.
Wayne Conroy’s men are really making the Carrick Road venue a fortress this season and they have now scored 21 goals and conceded just one in their four home games this season.
Barry Carr showed why he is one the top young strikers in the MDL with a master class in finishing to grab a hat trick in the opening half hour.
His first arrived inside the opening five minutes after Derek Moran had played Ciaran Sullivan in down the left and from his precision cross Carr delicately glanced a header into the top corner.
It was soon 2-0, this time Carr was picked out by Martin Murphy on the right and he went at the Ardee defence before unleashing a powerful shot past the helpless keeper.
Carr soon got his hat-trick when, with seemingly nowhere to go on the edge of the box, he superbly flicked the ball over two advancing defenders before cooly slotting the ball home.
Woodview racked up another four goals in the second half. Fra McCann added the fourth with a point blank finish after being set up by Sullivan before Stephen Grimes got in on the act with a cheeky finish from a quickly taken free-kick before ubstitute Billy Smith completed the rout with two smart finishes.
