RAMPART Celtic kept their first clean sheet of the season as they overcame Rangers by two goals to nil in a low key affair at Moorland on Thursday night.

Both sides were guilty of spurning gilt edged chances in the opening exchanges and it took a penalty in the 25th minute to break the deadlock, Jason Mulligan dispatching the spot kick past Chris McMahon to put Rampart ahead.

The second-half saw Rampart with more of the play but stout defending kept them at bay until 20 minutes from time when Aidan McGuinness stabbed home a low cross to make it 2-0.

Mulligan, Paul Fee and David Lynch stood out for the winners while Johnny Winters, Shane McKenna and James Walker caught the eye for Gers.
