Quay Celtic heralded their return to the Summer League in the most emphatic fashion with an 8-1 trouncing of Rangers in Moorland.

A John KcKenny goal as early as the 5th minute began the rout in the first game of the new campaign.

Gavin Donnelly managed to hit himself a hat-trick and that was added to by a brace from Sean McCourt as things went from bad to worse for the home side’s defence.

Shane McKenna and Denis Cholach completed the facile victory with goals of their own over a completely outplayed Rangers side who had little answer to the Quay attacking threat.

Kelia Amelia got the Gers consolation goal but to get a fuller picture of how the league may pan out this season, it will take a more testing fixture to gauge just how good this Quay side can be but early signs for them are encouraging.

On this performance it looks like they will be challenging for the league title in the First Division.
