Ryan Dillon was the hat-trick hero for Doolargy All Stars in a hard-fought 3-1 win over newcomers Ravensdale at DkIT last Tuesday evening.

Played on a superb surace despite the wet conditions, both sides served up a very entertaining 90 minutes of football.

As the scoreless first 45 minutes of play would suggest, there was very little between these two evenly-matched sides by the time the half whistle sounded.

However, the second half was only minutes old when Dillon headed the home side in front from a corner kick.

Ten minutes later, he notched a second to put the All Stars 2-0 in front but within five minutes of that goal looking like it had made Doolargy comfortable, Thomas Dullaghan pulled one back for Ravesdale to ensure a nervous ending to proceedings at the college.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Dillon completed his hat-trick and snuff out any hope of a revival by the ‘Dale’.

Unsurprisingly, it was Dillon who stood out for Dayser Bond’s team while midfield dynamo Declan Sharkey was outstanding for Cecil Mahon’s men.
