Second place St Dominic’s rescued a draw with third placed Bay United in the U10 First Division on Monday night at Bellew Park in a tight and keenly contested affair.

Gerry McFadden was the saviour for St Dominics with the equaliser five minutes from time to rescue a share of the spoils for the home side.

The visitors broke the deadlock 17 minutes into the first half with a Jamie Fealy goal but Jack McArdle equalised five minutes later to leave the teams level at half time.

Bay applied all the early pressure in the second half and went 1-2 ahead when Sean Brennan raced clear of the home defence and slotted past the outstretched hand of Jack McBride and into the bottom corner.

They had chances to increase their lead but St Dominic’s also created chances and deservedly equalised when Gerry McFadden won the ball on the outskirts of the penalty area before slotting low under Bay ‘keeper Kenny Traibor.
