Gerard Namaigg fired home a hat-trick to give Bay United a deserving three points in the first U13 game of the season at the Rock Road pitch on Saturday morning.
Redeemer started brightly and Jise Bankole gave them a great start with a goal after four minutes .
Aoibheann Murphy was unlucky not to increase their lead minutes later but her shot was forced off the line by Bay United defender Tiernan Nash. Namaigg equalised for the home side after 15 minutes and he then made it 2-1 when he headed home a Ronnick Achums cross as Bay began to control possession.
Their dominance was rewarded when Daniel Chong’s shot from a difficult angle found the roof of the net and then Ronnick Achums converted a fourth goal when he guided home a low cross from Dillon Morris.
Redeemer goalkeeper Ben Dixon produced a good save to deny Ronnick Achums early in the second half as Bay threatened to run away with the game but Redeemer winger Aaron Myles scored the goal of the game when he fired high into the net from the edge of the penalty area to make it 4-2.
It was then Bay’s turn to attack and once again Ben Dixon was in the right place to block a fine effort from Marius Keralius but the Redeemer goalkeeper could do nothing to prevent Gerard Namaigg from completing his hat-trick after the Redeemer defence failed to clear.
The visitors kept battling and were rewarded when Taylor Murphy earned a penalty after a brilliant mazy run into the penalty box and Calem McCrave slotted home from the spot to make the final score 5-3.
