Sam Bingham scored the first goal of the new Fastfix Dundalk Schoolboys League season after only 12 seconds to give Quay Olympic the perfect start to the new 2014/2015 campaign as the Clancy Park side came out of the blocks at hectic speed in the opening game played at the Army Grounds on Thursday evening.
The Quay Olympic striker scored a second goal minutes later and Lade Fajobi and Emmet O’Hanrahan added two more goals to stretch Quay’s lead to 4-0 after only 15 minutes played.
Ardee United struggled to settle but a David Sharkey free-kick did reduce the deficit on 18 minutes and despite the intense Quay pressure the scoreline remained 4-1 to the home side at half-time.
Ardee goalkeeper Shane Halpenny produced many saves after the break to frustrate the hungry Quay Olympic strikers but the relentless pressure eventually told and Kyle Callan added a fifth and Sam Bingham scored goal number six to complete his hat-trick.
