St Dominic’s moved seven points clear at the top of the U12 First Division with a fine 4-0 win over Woodview Celtic at Bellew Park in midweek.
The Friary side were the dominant force from the early exchanges and Brian Brady was denied by a brilliant James Byrne save in the 1st minute of the game and Byrne produced another good save on 12 minutes to turn an Alan Jones shot around the post.
Woodview eventually settled and Dylan Weaving went close before Sardjan Zigic burst through the Dominic’s defence but home keeper Jacob Rygielstry was equal to the task to produce a fine save.
Brian Brady put his team in front in the 17th minute when he found space in the Woodview penalty area to slot low past James Byrne.
The Doms doubled their advantage 11 minutes into the second-half when Calum Quigley shrugged off the challenge of his marker to fire past Byrne and added a third goal with a long range effort from Gareth Burns.
Brady completed the scoring for the home side in the 55th minute to seal the three points when he jinked his way past several defenders and coolly slotted home the fourth goal.
