Muirhevnamor moved into third place in the table after hammering Longwood 7-0 on Friday night.

The home side led 2-0 at half time with Brendan Hughes striking the first goal after 15 minutes with the second coming from an own goal by the Longwood centre-half who found himself under pressure from Simon O’Shaughnessy.

Hughes made it 3-0 early in the second-half with a header and Gary Clarke then converted a penalty kick that was awarded after a needless handball.

The goals kept coming for Sean Dixon’s side and Sean Conlon got in on act when he drilled a 20-yard rocket to the roof of the net to make it 5-0.

Substitute Anto Reilly was the architect for goal number six when he played a one-two with Stefan McKevitt before cleverly wrong footing the visitors defence and setting up Ryan Dillon to finish off an excellent piece of play.

Reilly completed the scoring with time almost up when player-manager Dixon put him through on goal and he showed his skill by dinking the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

The Mor now sit six points behind leaders Woodview Celtic.

Muirhevnamor: Michael Cooney, Stefan McKevitt, Brian Begley, Philip Duffy (Sean Dixon), Shane O’Callaghan, Sean Conlon, Simon O’Shaughnessy, Conor Gorman (Anto Reilly), Ryan Dillon, Gary Clarke, Brendan Hughes.
