Ardee Celtic’s unbeaten start to their Division One campaign continued as they picked up all three points away to Navan Town on Sunday.

Ardee began with purpose and Gatis Logins was denied by a brilliant stop by the home goalkeeper.

Midway through the half and the mid-Louth side went in front when Kenny McKenna delivered a corner into the danger area and Hanney rose highest to thump a header to the back of the net.

For the remainder of the half Ardee kept up the pressure but failed to add a second goal. The second half was evenly balanced and Navan drew level on 70 minutes from a direct free-kick and shortly afterwards Logins missed a sitter when he got on the end of a Niall Taffee pass but, having rounded the goalkeeper, he blazed his effort over the bar.

As the game entered it final minutes the visitors grabbed the winner.

Again McKenna was the provider from a corner kick as he picked out Jamie Rooney and his header flew to the net and secured a vital win on the road for the Deesiders.
