StatSports position excites Johnston

Speaking about his new job with StatSports, Paul Johnston said that he could not resist the chance to work with a company who deal with some of the world’s elite sporting organisations.

Founded almost seven years ago by Alan Clarke and Sean O’Connor, StatSports provide performance analysis services to clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus as well as American NBA and NFL sides such as Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Browns.

“I have always been in contact with Alan and Sean in StatSports as they are sponsors of the club,” said Johnston.

“The timing was just never right but I spoke with Alan recently and, I decided, especially with Dundalk being in such a great position, that it would be the ideal chance to join StatSports.

“It’s a great opportunity to work with a leading international and global company within the sports industry. Even better, it’s a local company doing so well in an extremely competitive industry.”

As well as getting the chance to rub shoulders with some of the world’s biggest clubs, Johnston is also looking forward to the opportunity of going to Oriel Park and taking in a game as a supporter.

“I have young children and it will give me a chance to bring them to Oriel Park and watch the game rather than bringing them up and leaving them at the front door as I go and work.

“There is a bit of Limerick blood in there on their mother’s side so it will give me a great opportunity to convert them!”
