Dundalk Inter put up brave resistance to Rampart Celtic in Ravensdale on Tuesday night before finally capitulating to a 3-0 defeat.
Excellent goalkeeping denied Shane Matthews several times before Aidan McGuinness opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game for Rampart.
Stout defending by the home side saw them turn over just the one goal behind.
Shane Matthews, with his first goal of the season, doubled Rampart’s lead on the hour mark and in the last few minutes a Chris Mullen cross-cum-shot deceived the keeper for Rampart’s third.
Paul Fee and Colin Warnock stood out for Rampart in their fourth victory of the season.
Michal Zebracki was Dundalk Inter’s best performer.
