Seatown and Bellurgan return to Summer League

A VERY well attended Dundalk Summer League AGM took place in Oriel Park last Tuesday which saw four new clubs admitted to the league ahead of the 2012 season.

A VERY well attended Dundalk Summer League AGM took place in Oriel Park last Tuesday which saw four new clubs admitted to the league ahead of the 2012 season.

Bellurgan United, Annagasan FC, Seatown FC and Wolves were the new clubs welcomed, while Carlingforf United and Quay Celtic dropped out.

A minute’s silence was observed before proceedings got under way in memory of all past players and officers.

The election saw the Committee returned en-bloc. Chairman: Alan McComish, Secretary/Tresurer: Gus Hearty, Registrar: Joe Mellon, Committee: Brendan Scollan, Steven Savage and Robbie Rafferty.

There was only one change in the rules, which allowed extra-time to be played in the finals of the Clancy Cup, Heinz Premier Cup and Heinz First Division Cup.

The full list of clubs is as follows: Annagassan FC, Bay United, Bellurgan United, Boyne Valley, Doolargy All-Stars, Doolargy Celtic, Demesne Celtic, Muirheavnamor FC, Muirheavnamor Youths, Rangers, Rampart Celtic, Redeemer Celtic, Redeemer United, Seatown FC, Shamrocks FC, Shamrock Youths, St Dominics, Wolves.

The format of the league will be formalised in time for the next meeting, which will take place in Oriel Park on 2 April at 8pm.

A list of all teams and managers, along with signing of all forms will be distributed at this meeting.
