Ardee Celtic named FAI Club of the Month

Ardee Celtic Football Club have been named as the Aviva/FAI Club of the Month for April. The Aviva Club of the Month, in conjunction with The Irish Daily Star and The Carlton Hotel, Tyrellstown, recognises some of the finest grass-roots clubs in the country through a series of monthly prizes.

Ardee Celtic Football Club have been named as the Aviva/FAI Club of the Month for April. The Aviva Club of the Month, in conjunction with The Irish Daily Star and The Carlton Hotel, Tyrellstown, recognises some of the finest grass-roots clubs in the country through a series of monthly prizes.

Ardee Celtic will now go forward as one of 8 clubs from all over the country in with a chance of taking the Aviva Club of the Year Award, at the FAI’s annual ‘’Festival of Football’’, which takes place in Donegal in July.

The monthly winners receive a plaque and a cash prize of €1,500. The overall winner of the Aviva Club of the Year will receive a prize of €5,000 and an Aviva Club of the Year plaque. The clubs will be judged on six different criteria, including administration, coaching, participation numbers, performance and contribution to the community.

The win comes on the back of the club’s recent official opening weekend at their home grounds at Townparks in Ardee which was attended by the FAI CEO John Delaney and which saw a number of events showcasing all aspects to the club.

Club Secretary Sean McDonnell said: “The club are obviously delighted with the award. It’s a wonderful honour and fantastic get some recognition for the great work carried out by people within Ardee Celtic on behalf of it’s members and the community in Ardee and surrounding areas.”
