It looks like Dundalk caretaker manager Darius Kieran’s search for a striker has come to an end with the signing of Carrickmacross native Barry Conlon.
The 33 year-old veteran striker has been signed by the club until the end of the season.
Conlon has been without a club since his time with Olympic de Charleroi-Marchienne in Belgium came to an end last year.
The Carrickmacross man was previously involved with the Youth side at Dundalk and was due up to be signed earlier in the season. However financial problems ended any kind of deal back then.
With a change in the board structure at Oriel Park recently the deal has now been confirmed and it is hoped that Conlon’s goals can push Dundalk away from the drop as the season approaches its climax.
Conlon should be available for selection for the crucial relegation dogfight with UCD on Friday evening
