Kilsaran Dynamites Basketball Club are preparing for their third season in the upcoming North East Basketball League.
The club have held a number of successful trials at all age levels with new players strengthening the ranks at senior and juvenile level.
New faces at the Dynamites include three Castleblayney players, Nadine Rice, who has signed for the U18 Girls and Roisin McKenna and Dotie Dulska who have joined the senior ladies team.
Youngsters Sinead O’Hagan, Laura Keenan and Nadine Rice have also broken through to the first team and will add a fresh approach to the side.
In preparation for their upcoming season, Dynamites senior team travelled to Longford last weekend to take part in the Longford Torpedoes Tournament were they met opposition from Dublin, Castlerea, Longford and Drogheda.
While the seniors were busy brushing all opposition aside to reach the final in Longford their U13 girls team were 200 miles away in Belfast reaching the semi-final stages in their first tournament run by Queens Basketball Club.
The Dynamites U13 team was: Bláthnait Byrne, Rachael McNally Vanessa Imeda, Amy Kerley (MVP), Aoife Louth, Sarah Byrne, Eimear Fallon, Sara Luckie, Niamh Sadlier and the impressive Shaunine Rice.
To complement all this activity the club’s U16 and U18 girls teams took on Liffey Celtic from Kildare in their first pre-season game in Dromiskin.

The Kilsaran Dynamites senior ladies team play Cavan Basketball Club on Tuesday October 9 in Dundalk Sports Centre with tip off at 8:15pm.

The club will hold a fancy dress night on Friday October 26 in the O’Connell’s GAA Hall, Castlebelingham. Tickets can be purchased for €7 from any club member.
