The dust has barely settled on the recent spring leagues held at Ravensdale Lodge but it is time to start again with the spring/summer run of shows and leagues.

The last of the four leagues being run at Ravensdale Lodge concluded last Thursday, April 26 and there is no let up as a fresh run commences on Wednesday May 2 at 11am with 10 weeks of registered SJI show jumping.

Thursday May 3 sees the registered course open for schooling and this is seen as an ideal opportunity to school young or inexperienced animals over a SJI designed course.

The course will be open for schooling from 10am and must be pre booked through the centre, advanced bookings would indicate that these schooling days will be busy.

Friday evening, May 4 sees the return of the ever popular horse and pony training league which starts at 5pm and there are the usual classes from x poles to 1.20m.

The last horse and pony training league broke all records with large numbers attending weekly and organisers are hoping for more of the same with this league.

Another very popular league was the arena eventing league which is a mix of show jumps, rustic fences, portable cross – country fences and beech logs.

An ideal opportunity to school young event horses or just to have some fun this new league commences on Saturday 5th May with a 60cm newcomers track, other classes include 70cm, 85cm and 1m.

This arena event track will remain up for on Sunday for schooling and combined training commencing on Sunday May 6 and this will be run in conjunction with the scheduled dressage league to be run at the centre.

Patrons can use the opportunity to ride a dressage test or mix and match with some schooling over the arena event course or the cross country course on a “go as you please” basis.

There are some great discounts available for riding clubs, groups, multiple show or class entries and competitors can be assured of superb all-weather facilities as the new fibre sand arena is now in use and if the current spell of inclement weather remains the indoor arena may be used for the first couple of weeks.
