Louth finish 3rd in All Ireland Clay Pigeon Championship

THE National Association of Regional Game Councils held their annual All Ireland Clay Pigeon Shooting Championship last weekend where the Wee County finished in 3rd place.

THE National Association of Regional Game Councils held their annual All Ireland Clay Pigeon Shooting Championship last weekend where the Wee County finished in 3rd place.

This year’s event was held at the Limerick Race course where approximately 350 competitors took part representing their respective county.

Each senior team comprised of 12 competitors with the best 10 scores counting towards the team’s total.

This year’s Louth senior team finished a credible 3rd place overall with a score of 427/500. Wexford were 2nd with a score of 437/500 and Laois were 1st with a score of 438/500.

In the U21 category, Louth junior Jake Byrne finished 2nd overall and in the U16 category, Louth colt Jamie Holcroft finished in 1st place overall.
