The 73 year old - who cannot be named due to reporting restrictions, pleaded not guilty at Dundalk Circuit Court last week to committing the alleged offence at a location in County Louth on the 16th of June 2009.

At the end of a two day trial the jurors - six men and six women, failed to reach a verdict last Thursday evening after deliberating for more than three and a half hours.
