Kearney brothers to turn on lights

IRISH rugby player Rob Kearney and his brother, David, who is also a top rugby player, have been lined up to turn on the Christmas lights in Carlingford.

IRISH rugby player Rob Kearney and his brother, David, who is also a top rugby player, have been lined up to turn on the Christmas lights in Carlingford.

The brothers, who are from Carlingford, will help to officially launch the festive season in the medieval village on Sunday, December 4.

After they have turned on the Christmas lights at 4pm, the pair have promised to sign autographs for any fans. The light ceremony will be followed by the presentation of prizes for the Cooley Peninsula’s National School Art Competition sponsored by the Carlingford & Cooley Tourism Association (CCTA).

There will also be face painting throughout the afternoon, and free kiddies disco in McKevitts Village Hotel from 5pm-7pm. Féile Mí na Nollag Cairlinn is on from Friday, December 2 to Tuesday, December 6 and will include choral recitals, Santa Claus, entertainment, craft fair, discount shopping and a food market.
