Young soccer players sought for Futsal blitz project

Children and young people in the Dundalk area are being invited to take part in once-off Futsal ‘blitz’ tournaments over the coming weeks.

Children and young people in the Dundalk area are being invited to take part in once-off Futsal ‘blitz’ tournaments over the coming weeks.

All ‘blitz’ will run from 7pm to 9pm. The organisers are appealing to all community and youth groups to enter a team, supported by an adult manager.

The once-off Futsal ‘blitz’ tournaments are being offered through the collaborative efforts of Co Louth VEC, North East Regional Drugs Task Force, Dundalk RAPID Programme, Dundalk Town Council, Dundalk FC, Dundalk Community Policing Unit, and the Football Association of Ireland.

The project is funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs through the Young People’s Facilities and Services Fund, and is aimed at young people (male and female) aged between ten and 16.
