An innovative new two-year programme for parents of new born babies in the Dundalk area is to be launched in the town next February.

The Wrap Around Programme is a new initiative for first or second time parents and their babies, which is due to begin in mid-February 2012.

It is a joint effort between a number of voluntary and statutory agencies including Archways, Muirhevnamor Springboard Initiative and Women’s Aid.

Funding is being provided by the Health Service Executive (HSE), Louth Leader Partnership and The Society for the Old Folk and Underprivileged Children.

The programme is aimed specifically at the parents of babies born in November and December 2011. The programme will run over the first two years of the babies’ lives and will give participating parents access to the best parent-infant information.

The Wrap Around Programme will cover areas such as baby massage, weaning, feeding, first aid, infant play and cognitive development. Places are limited. To book a place contact Caroline or Breda on 042-9351680.
