For several years now the Knockbride Vintage Club hold a wonderful Vintage Rally and Fun Day in the the mid-louth village.

There is lots to keep everyone entertained, be they young or old, and a very enjoyable family day out is guaranteed.

Attractions have included a large vintage tractor and car display while a number of threshing mills will be busy threshing oats all day.

The skill of horse ploughing are demonstrated while in an adjacent field vintage tractor ploughing takes place. Binders, reapers and vintage combines cut the barley and they’ve even had a vintage army display which has proved a popular attraction.

Patrons have been invited to have a flutter on the sheep racing. This has been one of the highlights of the show as everyone enjoys the spectacle of the “wooly jumpers” hurdling their way towards the line.

The dog show always attracts a large number of entrants as proud owners show off their pooches in the hope of winning a prize.

The tug of war proved very popular each year.

There always has been plenty to keep the children entertained with bouncy castles, face painting, puppet shows, an animal farm and other novelty events.

Live music gets everyone in the mood with something to suit all tastes. The food stall plays a huge role on a day like this, as it is a place to rest, congregate or chat as you watch the activities.
