THE Peninsula Playground Committee has launched a special prize draw to help raise e27,000 for the family-friendly facility.

“We are thankful to be in the position where Louth Leader Partnership have very kindly given 75 per cent of funding to the project, however, we must meet the balance through local fundraising,” said Feargal Malone.

“We still have e27,000 to raise and are embarking on a special prize draw with e4,000 in cash prizes to give away to help raise the remaining funds.

“Other playgrounds throughout the country have been very successful with this draw so we are asking for your support.”

There will be 2,000 tickets for sale and these tickets will range in price from e0.01 cent right up to the most expensive ticket at e20. Buyers have as much chance of winning the top prize of e2,000 cash with the e0.01 cent ticket as with the e20 ticket. The tickets will be available through the Parents’ Associations and members of the committee. The prize draw will take place at a function in St Patricks Community Centre on May 14, and will include the top prize of e2,000, 2nd prize e1,000, 3rd prize e500, and five e100 prizes.

St Patrick’s Community Centre Bingo committee succeeded in raising e2,300 for The Peninsula Playstation on Sunday last.
