Taxi stolen as driver got fuel

A TAXI driver had his car stolen by a passenger after he stopped off for fuel in a local filling station in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday morning.

A TAXI driver had his car stolen by a passenger after he stopped off for fuel in a local filling station in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday morning.

The incident happened around 2.50am when the driver pulled into the filling station on the Castletown Road.

However, after leaving his car to get fuel, the passenger of the vehicle drove off in the car - a Toyota Carina Hatchback with registration number 97 D 24722.

The car was still missing at the time of going to press and anyone with information on the incident or its whereabouts is asked to contact Dundalk Gardaí at 042-9335577.
