The Irish Blood Transfusion Service would like to thank all 80 donors who attended the recently held clinic in Scoil Ui Mhuirí, Dunleer. A breakdown of the total figures show that 12 first time donors and 16 former donors attended the clinic. It is essential that we maintain and increase the level of support on our next visit to Dunleer.
Also a special thank you to Julia Gauza, our Local Voluntary Organiser for her assistance this visit and Maura and George Connolly for distributing information leaflets and posters in the Castlebellingham area.
Approximately 1000 people in Ireland will receive a blood transfusion every week. To do this we must collect approximately 3,000 donations of blood each and every week from voluntary donors like you. A total of 2030 units alone were required in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda during 2015.
Finally on behalf of all the patients in hospital who benefit from your generosity a heartfelt thank you to all who attended or helped with our Dunleer Clinic in any way.
