Tommy Bowe flies into Blayney

MORE used to terrorising defences on the rugby pitch, flying Irish rugby winger Tommy Bowe made a flying visit recently to Castleblayney.

The Ospreys and Irish winger, and Monaghan native, was in town promoting his ‘Lloyd and Price’ Tommy Bowe shoe collection which have been a big success.

Tommy signed autographs and jerseys in Mr Richard’s Menswear aswell as dropping in to the McKernon family in the town.

Speaking last week the hulking winger said: “I am here with the Lloyd and Pryce shoe brand, The Tommy Bowe collection. We’re in the autumn/winter collection. It’s my first year involved with them and we like to do a visit around some of the shops that are selling them throughout Ireland.

“It’s been great, it’s nice to meet the supporters, there are a lot of Irish supporters here. There were Ireland jersies everywhere and even the odd Ospreys jersey and that’s nice to see.”

Turning his attention to the Six Nations tournament which sees Ireland begin their campaign on February 5 against Wales Tommy said, “It’s going to be a massive competition after the excitement and disappointment of the World Cup. It’s a great competition to go in to with Wales at home in our first match, that’s one to really look forward to.”

The wingers was recently named in the squad and has been mooted as a possible replacement for Brian O’Driscoll in the outside centre position.
