A road haulier from Monaghan is preparing for the holiday of a lifetime in Thailand after becoming the August winner of the Topaz Play or Park loyalty game.

Padraig Duffy who lives in Carrickmacross was thrilled to hear that he, his wife Jenny and two friends will be jetting off to Thailand for a week’s stay at the luxurious Koh Yao Yoga Resort.

Padraig, who has never been to Asia or anywhere in that part of the world had a feeling when he played his points that his luck could be in.

“I’m a regular customer at two Topaz stations. I registered to play at Watters Service Station on the Dublin Road in Castleblaney but I’m also in and out of Cassidy’s Service station on the in Carrickmacross all the time. I don’t know what it was but I just had a good feeling when I entered the August competition. I’m looking forward to riding an elephant and although I’ve never tried yoga I’m really looking forward to giving it a go” Padraig said.

But who else will be going on the trip? “I’m definitely bringing Jenny – no discussion there. But we’re not sure who else is coming. That’s still up for debate” Padraig said.

The holiday package which has a total value of €20K includes return flights from Ireland for four people, private car and speedboat transfers between the airport and the hotel, 7 nights full board in superior studios at the Koh Yao Yoga Resort, three Thai or aromatherapy massages per person, twice daily yoga sessions, a swimming and snorkelling excursion to Koh Pak Bia island, a designer Rimowa suitcase for each person and €5K spending money.

Staff and management at both Cassidys and Watters are delighted for Padraig and Jenny, who’ve been married for two years and have an 18 month old daughter.

Thomas was presented with his prize by Laura Murphy, Loyalty Manager at Topaz.

“Play or Park is our new loyalty game and it’s all about rewarding loyal Topaz customers like Padraig. Every month we’re giving away an experience of a lifetime. Clearly people from the North East are keen players as they’ve won four of the seven prizes so far!

This is a fantastic prize and we’re sure Padraig, Jenny and their friends will have a wonderful time in Thailand. And I’m available if they want to bring me” Laura joked.
