The first in Music Generation Louth’s Family Concert Series takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, March 18 at 2pm in St Mary’s Church, Ardee with renowned fiddle player Zoe Conway and gifted guitarist John McIntyre.

This very special musical programme for children will see the duo present a selection of beautiful traditional tunes, famous classical pieces and much more with lots of opportunity for musical participation from the audience.

The Family Concert Series has been designed to inspire young children about music and give them the opportunity to hear top-class musicians perform locally.

Gemma Murray, Music Generation Louth Coordinator explained:

“Our idea for the concert series came from talking to musicians and realising that many were inspired as a child to take up music from hearing someone brilliant play.

“John and Zoe are dazzling performers. They also have a really fantastic way of working and communicating with children.

“As parents of young children themselves, they know exactly the kind of programme that will work for young audiences.”

Admission to the concert is free and there is no need to pre book, just simply turn up on the day. Doors will open at 1.30pm, half an hour before start of the performance.

Music Generation Louth’s Family Concert Series has been supported under the Arts Council’s Small Festivals and Events Scheme.

It is led by Co Louth VEC..
