Met Éireann is warning that wintry conditions are set to continue, with sleet, snow and frost expected until at least Thursday.

The Louth area is set to experience freezing conditions over the coming days, with highest temperatures expected to be no more than two degrees Celsius.

Sharp ground frost is predicted for tonight, with a risk of freezing fog developing, while snow and icy conditions have been forecasted for the region tomorrow.

Freshening southerly breezes should lead to milder conditions on Thursday, although frost could still develop in sheltered areas, while the weekend is expected to be windy with heavy downpours of rain.
