The Phoenix Bar launch ‘Fright Fest’in aid of SOSAD Dundalk

Last weekend Dundalk’s popular bar The Phoenix launched Fright Fest, a brand new fundraising campaign running until October 31, in aid of SOSAD Dundalk.

The Phoenix seeks to raise much needed funds with the help of the Dundalk community and will host a series of spooktacular events in the lead up to Halloween,

To kick off Fright Fest proprietors Betty and Stephen Traynor of The Phoenix, have decorated the bar from the ceiling to the floor with a unique collection of decorations.

These include handmade terror-ific tables, life sized zombies and ghouls, wicked witches, spooky spiders, freaky lights and much more.

The popular bar are appealing to their customers to donate if they like the decor using the designated buckets on the bar.

The Phoenix will also donate 50cents from every sale of their special Halloween cocktail “50 Shades of Blood” to SOSAD Dundalk.

SOSAD Dundalk is a new charity whose mission is to help reduce the number of suicides in Dundalk by offering a free private and confidential service.

In all branches SOSAD provides a 24 hour helpline, 365 days a year and have provided 1,912 counselling hours to clients.

To date SOSAD Dundalk have successfully helped over 300 clients, a number which continues to grow.

Speaking at the launch of Fright Fest on Sunday, proprietor Betty Traynor said,

“We are absolutely delighted to work alongside our customers to support SOSAD Dundalk.

“In the past our customers have pushed the boundaries with their generosity helping us to raise thousands of Euros for local charities.

“SOSAD is an invaluable charity that provides an outstanding service to local area and we are very happy to help them in whatever way we can.”

Fright Fest features something for everyone including a Zombie Parade on Friday 26th, HalloSCREAM Fancy Dress on Saturday, October 27 and Little Spooks children’s party on Tuesday, October 29.
