The Ferdia Challenge Road Race took place last Saturday

The race began at Sean O Carroll Street Ardee and finished in McCabe’s yard on Sean O’Carroll Street.

The road race raised funds for St John of God Drumcar.

Frank Lynch organiser of the Ferdia Challenge Road Race is also taking part part in a Strictly

Come Dancing event along with twenty other couples.

The final will be held on 28 October at the TLT in Drogheda to raise money for this good cause.

The race was divided into a 10km and a 5km race.

It began at Sean O Carroll Street, going out towards the Ardee Business Park, turning right back in towards Sliagh Breagh and finally down towards Sean O Carroll Street once more.

The 10km race was a double lap of the course.

The Ferdia Challenge invited seasoned runners as well as walkers to participate in raising money for this worthy cause.

Presentations were made to the winning runners after the race at The Ferdia Arms Castle Street.

Refreshments were served for all participants of the road race.

Music was provided by Sean-Nos.
