St Gerard Novena services

THE annual solemn novena in honour of St Gerard Majella at St Joseph’s Redemptorist Church and Holy Redeemer Church in Dundalk, will take place from next Monday 8 October until Tuesday week 16 October.

The weekday services are at 7am, 9.30am, 11.30am, 1.10pm, 2.30pm, 4.30pm, 6pm, 7.30pm, 9pm, 10.30pm.

On Sunday the times are: 7am, 8am, 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm, 4.30pm, 6pm, 7.30pm, 9pm.

The preachers at the Redemptorist this year are Fr Peter Burns, Fr Gerard O’Connor, Fr Richard Reid and Fr Noel Kehoe.

The preachers at the Church of the Redeemer are Fr Michael Dempsey and Fr Dan Baragry.

The last session every night at the Redemptorist will be in candlelight.

Guest speaker will be Stephen Vaughan who will speak on Monday 15 October at all session in St Joseph’s about being gay.

There will be a special healing Mass with anointing of the sick and elderly on Saturday 13 October at the Redemptorist at 11.30am and 2.30pm.

The healing Mass in the Redeemer will be on Monday 15 October.

Communal celebration of the sacrament of reconciliation will take place on Thursday 11 October at the Redemptorist and Friday 12 October at the Redeemer.

The traditional blessing of babies and children – without Mass - will be held on Sunday afternoon 14 October at the Redemptorist at 2.30pm and in the Redeemer on the same day at 3pm.
