Sian's has the perfect gift for shoppers
SIAN Maloney has just set up a new online one stop gift website in the mid-Louth area which will also extent to the north of the county.
The website covers everything, luxury branded gifts and vouchers from a large range of businesses, to holidays in practically any city in Europe.
"It all started when I was in hospital," said Sian. "A friend of mine was getting married and I was think of her wedding list and that's how it really got started.
"I wanted to choose local business so I approached local people. I just decided to give it a lash.
"The feedback has been very good so far and I hope it will develop from here."
The website allows clients to purchase gifts from their local businesses and have them delivered anywhere in the country from the comfort of their own home.
"The idea of www.giftsandvouchers.ie is to focus on local business as much as possible and if they don't have a website, give them the opportunity to sell their business online," said Sian.
"We are now rolling out to other parts of Louth and beyond. Basically we are giving shoppers the facility to create their own gift list for a special occasion such as weddings, christenings and twenty-firsts.
"People can select gifts or vouchers across a broad selection of businesses and have them delivered at a time that suits them," said Sian.
The website also has a section called gifts with a twist where they combine products and vouchers from a selection of their partner businesses to try and create unusual gift packages for buyers.
"This is proving to be very successful for people looking for something a little bit different or special.
"And there is a special offers section where partner businesses can advertise any products they have which are on special offer at any given time. There are always great items to be picked up here for that special occasion."
Sian is married to Emmet and has a six-year-old son Matthew. She previously worked with the Ulster Bank Dundalk and then with Fexco in Killorglin county Kerry.
She is also the proud and grateful recipient of a kidney transplant.
"I got the kidney transplant 13 years ago and things have been going well ever since. I was on a waiting list for a year.
"The kidney is doing great and I can't thank people enough who carry donor cards and become donors."
Having battled to gain good health, Sian is now fullfiling her dream to run her own business.
She has used her experience in IT project management to develop her own business and at the same time support local businesses.
It looks like an all-round winner for customers and local businesses.
