Save St Joseph’s
THE public consultation process on the future of St Joseph’s is nearing its deadline and people have been urged to make their submissions before 18 January, the closing date for submissions.
In a letter to local newspapers - see page 18 - the secretary of the Save St Joseph’s Campaign Group Kevin Bailey, has asked “people to voice their opinion in favour of St Joseph’s.
In December, the HSE published a report on the possible ways in which services can best be delivered at St Joseph’s nursing home.
The report ‘Option Appraisal for the potential reconfiguration of Residential Services in St Joseph’s Hospital Ardee’ outlined a number of potential options on how St Joseph’s can be saved.
The report was the start of a public consultation process. HSE has consulted directly with the residents of St Joseph’s and their families.
Mr Dermot Monaghan, Area Manager HSE Louth-Meath area said the HSE wanted to hear directly from the public especially those living in the local community.
He said the Option Appraisal Report provided the HSE with an opportunity to share information withits stakeholders on both the challenges and the potential solutions to the provision of long term care and community support services for older people.
