A local businessman who scooped a whopping €57,000 on RTE’s Winning Streak TV Gameshow recently says he will invest the cash into his business.

Pat McArdle worked as a plumbing contractor for many years before opening his store ‘Liquidation Bathrooms’ on the Coes Road.

The lucky man was the biggest winner on the night.

“I hope to invest the money into the business,” said Pat while speaking to the Dundalk Democrat about his lucky win.

“It was the first time I ever got a Christmas bonus so it was a great experience.”

The popular businessman joked “All of my family is back talking to me now.”

Pat, who lives on the Dublin Road, is married to Ann who hails from Galway.

The couple have three children - Sean, Cormac and Kevin.

Having bought the scratch card in Dublin, Pat filled it in and posted it straight away.

Little did Pat know that he was selected to go on the game show. Phone calls alerted Pat to his selection for the show.

Pat says that “it was a fantastic experience.”

Pat added that he considers himself lucky in that he has everything he needs in life.
